This location is
right off 440 (Raleigh Beltline) at Old Wake Forest Rd. exit. Get off the
Beltline heading south, towards downtown Raleigh, and you will see the hotel
right there immediately on your right. The meeting room comes to $254. If
everyone would please chip in $10, that will cover the cost of the room.
Whatever is extra I can use for expenses, or distribute to help pay for hotel
rooms for those coming from distances too far to travel in one day. In fact if
you want to put in $15, that would be even better.
We have a group
rate of $124 for sleeping rooms and I reserved some with two beds and some with
a king bed. Call Marriott Reservations at 1 (800)
321-2211 or (919) 821-3400 on or before Friday, January 10, 2014, (the
“Cut Off Date”) to make your sleeping room reservations. Identify
yourself as part of the Coalition of MB CE Educators Jan2014 group staying at
the Courtyard Raleigh Midtown, located at 1041 Wake Towne Drive, Raleigh,
NC 27609-7850. All reservations must be guaranteed with a major credit
card. After the Cut off Date, the hotel will release any unreserved rooms for
general sale and, in the hotel’s discretion, will accept reservations at
Coalition of MB CE Educators Jan2014’s group rate, on a space and rate
available basis.
I chose
Coalition of MB CE Educators for a name for us. Hopefully that is OK
with everyone. I am hoping to set up some sort of forum online so we do not
need to receive too much email. If I have time and I can figure it out, I
will do it before the meeting.
We have
31 coming, and 24 interested but could not make it to the meeting. I am
including names and emails here for the purpose of car-pooling, sharing rooms,
or offering to put someone up if you are local and have space. Please do not
add any of these emails to your newsletter list without permission or send
email that is not related to this meeting!
The
hotel has a bistro dining section that will be open in the morning for
breakfast and coffee and tea. Please arrive early enough to take care of your
pre-meeting food needs and not be late. In the meeting room, I have only
arranged for water. If you need snacks there is a marketplace in the hotel. For
lunch, directly across the street from the hotel, we have: Trader Joe’s,
a high quality burger restaurant, a well-reputed Sushi restaurant, and a
Subway. Just north of 440 there is a Denny’s and Bahama Breeze (Carribean) Bar
and restaurant. If you prefer to bring lunch, there are tables in the hotel
bistro, but there is no refrigerator available for us, so leave your lunch in
your car to keep it cool.
Below
is the list of who is attending, followed by the list of who is interested, but
cannot attend. If you cannot read it let me know and I will send it to you as
an attachment instead.
